ISF European School Championship Badminton 2017
From 16th June to 21st June 2017, Clermont-Ferrand, a French city of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, hosted one of the biggest sports events for young athletes: the European Schools Championship Badminton 2017.
150 boys and girls from 12 countries such as Russia, Latvia, Scotland, Romania, Greece, Georgia, Germany, Croatia, Bulgaria, France, Sweden, Czech Republic gathered together not only to compete, but also learn from each other during the educational side events.
Indeed, for the first time, the ISF European Schools Badminton Championship proposed non-formal educational workshops led by the young volunteers of the Volunteering in School Sport (V2S) project. Through the V2S project, ISF contributes to the recognition of volunteering in school sport for skill development and a lifelong learning during youth.
The event was organized by the International School Sport Federation and the French School Sport Federation in partnership with Ferrero Group’s social responsibility program Kinder+Sport “Joy of moving”, with the support of the World Badminton Federation and the French Badminton Federation.
Also, Badminton Europe have supported the Championship with its effort to broadcast it live on social media.
