Joy of moving's debut warmly received in Italian Schools
Kinder+Sport took its first step in bringing the Joy of moving method to Italian schools and it was a great success! The new Joy of moving method was developed by Kinder+Sport together with the Foro Italico University in Rome, the the MIUR of the Piedmont Region and the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI). It was created specifically for children, to encourage the development of tomorrow's citizens. The method supports education through games as an introduction to correct sporting practice.
After a three year research project, Joy of moving was officially presented to the public for the first time at Expo Milano 2015. It stood at the heart of the Kinder+Sport experience, which received nearly a thousand school visits in six months.
Joy of moving is not just a method for bringing children closer to sport: it's also about organising physical activities to meet children's needs.
As a first step towards becoming more widespread, 7 Italian schools that took part in a photo contest launched during Expo were recently rewarded with a starter course to the Joy of moving Method by the expert trainers of the Kinder+Sport Village of Alba. The course included workshops open to teachers from all of the schools involved. The experience proved extremely positive and highlighted not only the absolute effectiveness of the method but also the fact that teachers are interested in a more structured diffusion of the method within the national schooling system.
The seventh stop of this first "Joy of moving" tour was in Lecce where Massimiliano Rosolino, Kinder+Sport ambassador, visited the school as a special guest and took part in the course together with the children and their enthusiastic teachers.
