The Ski World Schools Championships in l'Aquila

Kinder+Sport took part in the Ski World Schools Championships organized from 23 to 27 February in L'Aquila by ISF in collaboration with the Italian Ministry for Education, University and Research.

This edition saw the participation of almost one thousand students between age 14 and 18 from 18 Countries. The young students represented with great pride their Nations in the disciplines of Alpine Skiing (Slalom and Giant Slalom) and Individual Nordic Skiing on a ring of 5 km, for the medium and superior women and men categories and 6-8 Km for category 2 men.

The event sparked much fun and fostered the desire to compete but also to begin new friendships among the participants.

The Ski World Schools Championships are one of the most consolidated events of ISF that begun in 1973, but many other events characterize the rich calendar of activities of the Federation: the European Students Games, the Asia and Pacific Student Games and the Gymnasiade organized every 4 years which includes athletics, swimming and gymnastics.

In 2016, the International School Sport Federation also thanks to the partnership with Kinder+Sport will organize the highest number of events ever organized in a single year. 10 World School Championships in 9 Countries, the Educational Games which will take place in Athen and Olympia, the cradle of Olympism and to the end of this year the Gymnasiade.
