WORLD SCHOOLS INCLUSIVE GAMES 2019

World Schools Inclusive Games 2019

Sports is for everyone: this is the strong idea which underlies the first edition of the ISF World Schools Inclusive Games 2019, that have been held from 7 to 12 July in Povoa de Varzim, Portugal, organized by ISF and the Portuguese Ministry of Education.

Croatia, England, France, Greece, Portugal and Slovakia: these are the six countries that have taken part in the competitions, facing themselves in athleticsboccia and gaoalball

The event format was created to involve able-bodied students, students with special education needs and students with disabilities to share, together and within the same teams, the same passion for sports as students coming from different countries and cultures. Besides sports competitions, students have been involved in cultural and socialization activities and thematic educative ones.

The event was held in the name of inclusion, as witnessed by a seminar on inclusion in sport, sport as a vehicle for inclusion and good practices that was held with 250 teachers and speakers, also from Latvia and England, tackling the different aspects of sport and inclusion in school sport.

Kinder Joy of moving proudly supported the event, being inclusion a shared value on which the partnership with ISF is built, with special activities and the assignment of its Fair Play Trophy, which was awarded to the Portuguese delegation.
