33 teams of boys and girls in World School Futsal Championship
High attendance and lively competition at the ISF World Schools Futsal Championship 2016. The 5-a-side football competition took place in Poreč, Croatia in April, with over 550 participants from all over the world: 33 teams, 23 boys and 10 girls, aged 16 to 18, from 21 countries. The Championship was supported by the President of Croatia.
117 games were played, with Brazil coming first both in the boys' and in the girl's competition. An outright success, followed by Iran and Croatia for the boys, and France and Turkey for the girls.
The tournament was also made more entertaining by shows and events. On Culture Day participants had the opportunity to visit the city of Poreč. Each team visited 3 attractions in the city, followed by the International Friendship Night taking place in the main square. Each country presented their own customs and culture through information points and dances performed on stage. The Gala dinner for the Heads of delegation and guests was held after the Opening ceremony and donations were gathered for the ISF foundation.
