As part of the UK Joy of moving programme, the Joy of moving Festivals are easy, simple and fun games and activities that help inspire children of all ages to develop life skills by learning through play. Taking place during the summer term in over 650 schools across the UK, the specially designed games and activities help children to develop skills including communication, empathy and teamwork. Each Community Club Organisation delivers the Festival in a half or full day in schools for all year groups.

In partnership with the English Football League Trust, the Joy of moving programme has helped to inspire over 400,000 children to get moving and delivered over 2 million hours in UK schools.

Following the launch of the new Joy of moving Online Resource Hub, the Festivals project was adapted to suit the COVID-19 environment. The new Home School Festival was delivered to families up and down the UK and it gave children and families the chance to move and have fun directly from their homes thanks to the many activities within the digital booklet.

The Festival was a great success, involving over 250,000 children and their families, 1,300 Primary Schools and reaching 8.4 million people with the #JOMHomeFestival campaign.
