KINDER JOY OF MOVING TO SUPPORT SAVE THE CHILDREN’S MISSION TO CURB SUMMER LEARNING LOSS FOR UNDERSERVED KIDS

Kinder Joy of moving to support Save the Children’s mission for underserved kids

More than 3,000 at-risk children served by Save the Children to participate in Kinder Joy of moving program activities at home

The Kinder Joy of moving program in United States has been added to Save the Children’s 2020 SummerBoost Camp™, which helps slow summer learning loss for children during the summer, being integrated into 16 Save the Children SummerBoost Camps in California and Tennessee. Participating children have received virtual instruction and activity kits that promote at-home learning in STEM, reading, math and physical activity, while using activity cards that stimulate family bonding through play and cognitive learning, including also Kinder Joy of moving equipment needed for children to stay active at home with their families.

Save the Children’s signature SummerBoost Camp™ which has 20 sites in seven states has proven strong results, with 76 percent of regularly participating children showing improved math scores during their time at SummerBoost Camp, and 64 percent of targeted maintaining or improving their reading proficiency over the summer months.

In summer 2019 Kinder conducted a pilot program in presence with Save the Children in three camps in Morongo, and Barstow, California. Save the Children’s mission is to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives, and the partnership with Kinder Joy of moving is inspiring kids in the SummerBoost camps to be active and celebrate joy in the process.
