The 38th Lake Garda Meeting Optimist Class, back in action

Kinder Joy of moving is back in action, in the waters of Garda Lake: the 38th edition of Lake Garda Meeting Optimist is coming

It’s time to sail again. Despite difficulties, Kinder Joy of moving and Fraglia Vela are together again, also in 2020, to welcome young helmsmen in the beautiful setting of Riva del Garda from August, 20th to 23d.

Due to COVID-19 emergency, the 38th Lake Garda Meeting Optimist has been moved from April and will take place in August in the waters of Garda Lake.

An edition, the 2020 one, that comes with the same enthusiasm but new precautions in order to ensure maximum safety for athletes, coaches and supporters, as prescribed by the Italian Sailing Federations regulation in contrast of COVID-19.

A special edition where restrictions will not stop the will of sailing: the international regatta, that has always been a Guinness World Record one, will this year be more discrete. The number of participants will be, in fact, limited to 800 young helmsmen born between 2005 and 2011 that will sail in the name of fun, friendship, family and fair play. Nothing this year either will stop, in fact, the will for being fair towards opponents: a special moment during awards ceremony will be dedicated to the Fair Play Trophy award.

Kinder Joy of moving is once again a proud sponsor of the regatta and will be present with a Joy of moving stand, to inspire young sailors and their families about the importance of movement and an active lifestyle. Kinder Joy of moving joins and share the commitment of this “plastic free” edition, where participants as well are called to pay more attention to the environment and the usage of plastic in sport competitions.
