On 19th and 20th of January the eagerly-awaited Skiri Trophy XCountry 2019 was held in Val di Fiemme, enthusiastically supported by Kinder Joy of moving.

Fair play, integration and friendship  are some of the shared values that have brought together the Trophy and Kinder Joy of moving. More than just a competition, the Skiri Trophy is an excellent opportunity  to create authentic relationships  between young people from various parts of the world  and to enjoy unique days in the pursuit of fun and movement , in a splendid natural snow-covered setting. Not only sport but also entertainment, not only competition but also light-heartedness: these are the ingredients of a partnership that is destined to last and to create extraordinary experiences. Because the Joy of moving infects everyone, even at below zero temperatures.

Now at its 36th edition, the former Topolino Trophy was first held in 1983 based on an idea put forward by the Gruppo Sportivo Castello di Fiemme: giving cross-country skiing an event for children and young people in a sportsmanlike and friendly atmosphere. Four categories were competing: Baby, Cuccioli, Ragazzi and Allievi.

The Trophy, which to all intents and purposes can be defined as a youth world championship open to everyone, is recognised by the International Ski Federation (FIS) at which big names in international cross-country skiing take part, creating exciting moments of sport and solidarity at all its editions. 1.300 young athletes  from 11 countries  have been taking part at the 2019 edition, including Brazil and Argentina, giving the event an even more global feeling.

As always, the programme has been very busy, with races both on Saturday and Sunday and moments of fun and entertainment such as the inaugural torch-lit parade of all the competing nations, the lighting of the tripod, an evening show featuring circus acts by the artist Onelio and the Kinder+Sport Village, spreading fun amongst athletes and their families.

Furthermore, Kinder Joy of moving has promoted the important Fair Play Trophy , won by  Manuela Partel: she wanted to leave the race, but other girls joyfully convinced her to keep on and cross the finish line.
